Andy Turner, aka Aim, returns on his own Atic label with the first fresh material since his “Hinterland” LP some years back. “Northwest” is a laidback gem, full of hypnotic charm, xylophone squiggles gently caressing the drum machine into a calm lullaby under Niko’s assured vocal delivery. “Walking Home Through The Park” is a darker preamble through instrumental territory led by folk-laden guitar interludes. Both cuts will reward repeat listening.
