From the label that scored a huge hit with Five Corners Quintet last year come a new six-piece band who bring a bossa flavour to their jazz sound and should enjoy similar success. “Poseidon” fuses lithe flute with guitar and samba drums for a relaxed, atmospheric number. “Solifer-Lento” picks the pace up, featuring funky horn interplay and a general Brazillian air. Group member Valtteri Poyhonen writes all the group’s material, which the group then like to improvise off of in true jazz style, and it shows through the quality of the musicianship. Recommended!
