After ‘Open’, what I thought was actually a surprise choice for single from the group’s ‘Speakers And Tweeters’ opus, comes one of the album’s strongest crossover contenders. This Just Jack-inspired offering ironically features the likely inspiration to Jack, the former Specials front man, Terry Hall. Picking up the Adrian Sherwood post-punk deconstructive fusion of dub and dance, the Dub Pistols follow a path trail blazed by Gary Clail’s Tackhead Sound System over a decade earlier, yet with more vivid colours and images then a box of Crayolas, and with new mixes supplied by DJ Love, Myagi and Moriarty it’s just like 1979 all over again.
