Lovely piano-laced soul from DWH (deeperwiderhigher), showcasing a spine tingling vocal against a live sounding backdrop. Eddie & Yanna inject the necessary muscle to give it the dancing edge, taking it closer to US Garage style territory with it’s shuffling beats and great use of the original trumpet work. The pirate soul crew are also catered for with the kind of lush, vibrant downbeat sounds only Blackbeard can deliver on their take on the aptly titled “Darkside”. Fine modern soul music.
