Once again Franz Ferdinand cut the club mustard with a top set of remixes. Drums Of Death is up first, with heads down no nonsense bouncing off walls noisy and intense bleeps with jackhammer beats. The kids will be foaming at the mouth. Meanwhile fellow Glaswegians Tigerstyle conjure up something a bit different and deliver the stand out mix, as they give “What She Came For” the Bhangra treatment, with sexy rolling rhythms, sitars and flutes, building into a swirling hypnotic state, totally complementing Alex Kapranos’ powerful vocal, which has got a certain Bryan Ferry feel. The result is stunning. Lee Mortimer rounds off the package with vocal and dub mixes in a big room house style, with plenty of hooky big synth riffs and hands in the air moments. Franz Ferdinand certainly know how to throw a party.
