A dig back into history for the latest in this series, as the A side finds Grant Green’s ever-green funky jazz killer “Let The Music Take Your Mind” given a workover by none other than DJ Muro. Toughened drums and some skillfully placed edits tease out the groove, loosening it up where it needs it, creating an instrumental that really works the floor. Flip it over and you’ll find Orquesta De La Luz, who’s “Carnival” is given the slice ‘n’ dice treatment to let the latin vibe really shine through. Japanese rare-jazz goodness from Nik Weston’s Mukatsuku label.
