Kid Carpet’s formula for electro-pop (the emphasis on ‘pop’) has been a hit with the crowds, thanks to boundless energy and a bag of charm, plus some pretty fine tunes. The format doesn’t always translate so well to the recording studio though. That said, “Hitting The Wall” is probably the best thing from is last album, “Casio Royale”. A moody song with a catchy chorus, it soars with some cool synth lines that are part New Order / part Aphex Twin, creating a flourishing anthem that’s hard not to like. Remixes of the not quite so good “Can’t Stop The Pop” are included, too.
