LAMBENT/DUODECIMO
SPLIT
INSINE

Specialist electronica here from the revitalised Insine imprint first set up by Last.fm in 2000 before taking a backseat their flagship project. Lambent is Akira from Japan, who now resides in Berlin, and contributes five tracks with not a beat in sight as electronic textures waft and interact, recalling anyone from 60s Terry Riley to further out European concrete tackle – here in a more tranquil mood but still with edgy undercurrents beneath the cerebral pulses. Duodecimo is two musique concrete specialist from the West Country who incorporate found sounds. Their trio of excursions establish uneasy calm stretches out of which poke odd belches from the radioactive swamp and disarming glitches. For anyone who’s interested in the outer limits of metal machine music.
