DISCO INFILTRATOR
DAF/EMI

Often cited as a highlight of the album and so rightly elevated to single status, ‘Disco Infiltrator’ is brilliant in its simplicity and the way such disparate ingredients are made to work to such deadly effect. The vocals are ’76 CBGB’s New York a la TomVerlaine or Richard Hell, as the guitars usually are. The beat is ‘Honky Tonk Women’. The backing choir is P-Funk. The wobbly noise is that much-heard ascending synth motif from Cybertron. The effect is controlled dynamite. The accompanying instrumental is useful too. Further excitement must be in store when the Francois Kevorkian mixes arrive.
