2006 Looks like being Metronomy’s year, he’s already remixed Franz Ferdinand, Sebestien Tellier, Ladytron & Bright Eyes amongst others, plus he’s getting proper backslaps at radio from Rob Da Bank & Steve Lamacq, with John Kennedy citing him as this years Mylo. So, on to this 4 track EP ‘Pip Paine’, opening with the Krautrock influenced ‘You Could Easily Have Me’, which is as catchy as you like & is as infectious as Bernard Mathews with a dose of bird flu. “Another Me To Mother Youä is a disturbed child’s sea shanty as is ‘Black Eye / Burnt Thumb’ giving Captain Pugwash a run for his money. ‘The Loss Of Wheel’ brings the EP to a close, but it’s certainly not night night sweet dreams, it’s more like toys in the attic. The Metronomy debut album is due in march, be very afraid.
