‘Oracular Spectacular’ is as far as I’m concerned album of 2008, and the third cut to be lifted from it is the excellent ‘Kids’, a first rate modern pop song that’s packed with hooks but keeps it’s cool. MGMT have drafted in Belgium’s finest for the remix, and Soulwax have gone and done it again, they’ve delivered beyond expectations, as bouncing bass heavy synths, Bobby O style percussion and random squiggles work their way around the MGMT vocals & riffs, building to new exstatic heights. Alongside Soulwax’s take on The Chemical Brothers ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl’, this is also one of the remixes of the year.
