David Edwards finds a new home for his Minotaur Shock guise with 4AD, having created a fearsome reputation for lo-fi electronica and leftfooted acoustic wizadry over at Melodic. This four track tantalizer for his forthcoming album indicates how his sound has fleshed out a little along the way, edging towards rockier pastures with the title track (but thankfully pulling back before it’s too late). Ex band mate Dominic C Jones even gets to add a fully fledged song to “This Side Of Vigo Bay”. Playful and experimental, with beautiful packaging, the new album promises a lot on the strength of this.
