If you’ve seen the Danish trio WhoMadeWho live, then you’ll know they’re something pretty special – and have a good sense of humour to boot. ‘The Plot’ is an album that encapsulates their different moods, sometimes dreaming in a folk direction, while other times pumping iron over some very danceable drumming. The title track made an excellent single but is followed by the equally good ‘Small Town City’, with its vocoder effects. Meanwhile ‘Office Clerk’ is a bit of a stomper, while ‘This Train’ goes for the glam side with its guitar licks. With catchy tunes and off the wall lyrics, delivered in a style that suggests a healthy but not overwhelming 80s influence, this is a mighty good album that should propel the band into higher circles.
