Ninja Tune makes good on Mr Scruff’s passion for a good fish dish with the brand spanking new Ninja Tuna label, and fittingly, it’s Mr Scruff who helms the first release. First up, it’s ‘Donkey Ride’, for which he’s joined by the irrepressibly funky Quantic. Combining sunny piano riffs and soulful vocal yips, it’s a stealthily infectious skank with a bit of a Latin twist to get the party warmed up properly. ‘Giant Pickle’ is Mr Scruff’s trademark rough-edged club vibe; hip-hop styled beats with a darkalicious bassline and squiggly synth notes. Good vibes all round.
