The ex-singer of (briefly popular) ‘shoe gazing’ band Slowdive benefits from a couple of dreamy remixes on this transparent vinyl 12”. Berlin’s Ulrich Schnauss is a perfect choice to bring warmth to the folky slide-guitars of ‘Coastline’ – yes it does sound like poppy Cocteau Twins but this is 4AD after all (91 BPM). On the flip Names On Records (aka The Delays) have a go too and bring delicate atmospheres and much profound intimacy to ‘Plucked’ (90).
