This clear vinyl offering currently doing the rounds and paying homage to porn star Ron Jeremy in its name, turns out to be a rhythm smart reconstruction of the Aphex Twin’s finest five-minutes, ‘Windowlicker’. Richard D James’ seminal experimental ambient techno from the late-90s always focused on eerie lounge-porn music (with a video to match) and all the trademark broken beat drum programming and heavily tweaked voices are retained. Across two effective mixes it’s still easy to see why Aphex is king of sprawling environmental textures, clanging, gritty percussion and dark humour.
