Santogold
L.E.S. Artistes
Lizard King / Atlantic

Brooklyn’s Santogold has come up with a fresh slice of funky quirky pop that lands somewhere between the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Cindy Lauper. ‘L.E.S. Artistes’ opens with jerky drum machines, nifty guitar riffs and a fat rumbling punk funk bassline, before opening up into a slightly edgy song that bursts into a big fuzzy chorus with sleezy keyboards and plenty of nervous energy. Herve and Xxxchange supply the mixes. Junk shop party frocks, big earrings and turned in toes are the order of the day. Santogold could definitely get you into trouble.
