Sweden‚s Shout Out Louds have definitely got a bit of a Cure thing going on here. The lead vocal on ‘The Comeback’ has got a smug, innocent and breathy Robert Smith feel, riding on jangly melodic basslines, with hooky and whimsical guitar and key riffs. On the flip Tommy Sunshine beefs it up with a 4/4 kick and brings out the sing-a-long factor, while Ratatat strip it back and slip in a nice funky groove. ‘The Comeback’ has got Balearic written all over it.
