Scott and G are Bristol duo Malakai, a studio based act using samples with live instrumentation and vocals. ‘Malakai EP 1’ contains four songs, an intro and a skit, all done with a mid 90‚s vibe and a bit of a trip hop twist. ‘The Battle’ gets us underway with trashy beats and Kinks swinging guitar riffs. ‘Moonsurfing’ goes down a folky route, whilst ‘Fading World’ doffs a cap to Massive Attack, and ‘Words Like Humble’ bring ‘Malakai EP 1’ to a skanking finale. The first installment of B-B-Q 2007 has arrived.
