A tale of two halves as Steeple Remove manage to straddle both inward looking, floating electronic pop that Brian Eno would probably be glad to be associated with. That’s the rather divine “Love Machine” which makes you feel like you’re floating on a bed of novocaine. Whilst the second half is a full-on 200mph 60’s garage swirl of guitars, organs and vocals that make you feel like your trapped at a go-go. Easy to see why they’ve been supporting the likes of Damo Suzuki (Can), Art Brut, etc. Will probably divide as many as it conquers.
