Steve Spacek is one of the original masters of that outer-space soul bump ‘n’ grind that latecomers like Platinum Pied Pipers have endeavoured to make their own, so it’s good to see he’s back with new material and a new album due soon. “Thank Yu and Credits” and “Thanks and Abit More” are perfect examples, glitchy slow motion funk jams, half George Clinton, half Kraftwerk. “Last Straw” is given over to D&B legend D Bridge for some additional funk mileage.
