Made up of classically trained musicians Dan & Rich Baker, they turned their attention to the funkier end of the music spectrum when they met professional pie eater Chris Pedley at a gig, and haven’t looked over their collective shoulders since. This 12″ offering brings together four reworks of the fantastic “Walk Into My World” single. Domu proves why he’s the king of broken soul with a fine twisted beat laden affair. Tru-Thought’s Nostalgia 77 dubs it out with a full-on funk version. Similarly, Dr Rubberfunk opts for a similar slant, but with a smokier hip-hop feel that seems to stretch time and space. Pick of an exceedingly good bunch is Trevor (Switch / Freerange) Lovey’s so wrong it’s right nu-disco opus, pushing all the right buttons and making shapes that should be illegal. Will appeal to house heads and funk floors alike – a fine piece of plastic, whichever way you spin it.
