The Big pink have got to be one of the successes of 2009. Early in the year they unleashed “Velvet” as a limited edition single, everybody loved it and wanted to hear more. So after picking up the Phillip Hall Radar Award at the NME bash, TBP headed straight into the studio and recorded their critically acclaimed debut LP “A Brief History Of Love”, which spawned the huge hit “Dominos”, and a load of blistering gigs & festival performances. So as we head into 2010, The Big Pink have decided, now is the time to give “Velvet” a proper release, they know they’re on to a winner, as layers of fuzzy guitars build around the solid lead vocal, that’s backed with distant ethereal harmonies, and the whole thing is wrapped in Alan Moulder’s wall of sound production. “Velvet” soars majestically with a haunting beauty, and it’s going to be absolutely huge this time round.
