By some ironic twist americans are now selling back eighties brit pop/rock to the UK at a time when so many bands over here still cite Iggy Pop & The Stooges as their main influence (admittedly being inspired by Duran Duran today seems far more audacious and fun). So after The Killers, The Bravery, VHS Or Beta, here’s another yankee take on yesterday’s european new-wave. Vocalist Wyatt Hull might possibly overdo it a touch (there’s only one Billy McKenzie and The Associates’ leader is now sadly gone) yet guitar player David Quon’s blessed with the lyrical talent of the greatest melodists.
