The originals are wafting, acoustic drifters washed in lysergic, electronic textures, conjuring a mood vaguely between the Beta Band and Pink Floyd. For the dancefloor, it’s the Freeform Five mix of ‘Time Traveller Man’ which does serious damage. Although hotwiring the orchestral downtempo deepness of the original, the FF treatment is not content to simply bolt a 4/4 kick to the undercarriage and let fly. Anu Pillai takes the track on a complex nine-minute adventure which builds, twists and turns through complex changes of key and groove while never letting go of the breathy, sighing atmosphere. Quite stunning. ‘Float Through Stars’ features Ben Lord’s vocals on an aural trip which is taken into dub reggae territory on the Boozoo Bajou remix.
