Title cut “Zebra Jeans”, gives the impression that The Girls are big fans of New York sleaze, as they pound out modern punk rawk, that seems to land somewhere between Johnny Thunders & Soulwax. “I Don’t need Your Help” comes in on fuzzy guitars worked into a catchy melody, while bubbly synths & cheeky harmonies, turn the grooving track into an infectious song. Stephan Evansson has got a bit of a Ray Davies vibe going on in “Molecules Are Chinese Girls”, & the closing “Nineteen” weaves a magical spell that conjure’s up the Doves working alongside Coldplay on a follow up to “Yellow“. This lot are shaping up to be big, catch ‘em live now, while you can still see them in an intimate dirty venue, otherwise it’s gonna be 5 nights at Brixton Academy.
