First of all it should be pointed out that Air France are not French – they’re from Sweden. This is useful to know as their style has a lot more in common with exponents of Balearic sounds and beats than it does with any Gallic dreamers. The Air France duo construct their music impeccably, with glassy vocals and textures hanging above relatively crisp and slightly poppy beats – the sort of sound that makes you want to throw open the windows on a sunny morning and completely immerse yourself in the sun. The simply titled ‘Introduction’ is particularly good, but then so is ‘June Evenings’ and the title track itself. So with spring not that far off, ‘No Way Down’ would seem a good investment – one to pack for summer in the Med, as well.
