The Loungs are a six piece outfit from St Helens, Lancashire, & it was their how do you pronounce it name, that attracted Manchester based Akoustik Anarkhy to add them to their gig. One particularly messy set later & the record deal was done. So here we have the debut single from The Loungs. ‘Iâm Gonna Take Your Girl’ starts off like a gently strummed but acid tongued I Am Kloot song. ‘A chance with her is worth the risk, a taken chance but first a kiss ‘I’m gonna take your girl away from you, you fool’. Then bang, in comes the drums & the brass, and it’s feel good swagger all the way. Over on the flip you’ll find the psychedelic surfing circus, that is ‘Seen My Baby Dancinâ’. Now if The Bonzo Dog Doo Da Band got together with The Beach Boys & Madness, they would probably come up with something quite similar.
