THE MEMORY BAND
WHY
PEACEFROG

Releasing cover versions seems to be as much a part of the process of being a band as going on tour now.  But, occasionally, something interest comes out of the ritual. The Memory Band’s version of the Nile Rodger’s penned “Why” (made famous by Carly Simon) becomes a melancholy wonder, genuinely bringing a fresh voice to a classic song with it’s traditional arrangement and Jennymay Logan’s voilin interplay.  “Come Write Me Down” is an original take on old standard and opts for a loping backbeat to carry the song beautifully.  Recommended.
