The Orange Lights are fronted by ex Spiritualized Electric Mainline guitarist Jason Hart, who’s slightly fragile but very earnest vocal delivery complements the song perfectly. The French disco don Alan Braxe is up first, layering banks of melancholic synth pads on a head nodding groove, which works a treat in the verses, then in comes the handclaps, hip shaking bassline, uplifting keyboards and we’re into the soaring choruses, which have got Balearic anthem written all over them. In complete contrast, CR2 head honcho Mark Brown serves up a fizzing and pulsing techno platter, which bends the warp factor close to breaking point, just how we like it. “Life Is Still Beautiful” is poised to be the feel good hit for these troubled times. Get on board.
