For his first material in four years, Pascal Arbez offers us something of a glam disco stomper in ‘Your Disco Song’, the first track on this EP. Shimmering round the edges as its propulsive bass sound powers it forward, it’s like he’s never been away from the dancefloor! The strong riff and beat totally complement each other, with that fuzzy distortion only the French seem to be able to do so well – yet somehow Vitalic makes this sound completely free of derivatives. The rest of the EP has plenty to offer too, whether in the screwball antics of ‘Benelux’, and its rough bass, or the classy John Lord remix also included. ‘Your Disco Song’ is the star, though, and rightly so.
