I came across DJ/producer Massimiliano Caporale and fellow Italian Pietro Nicosia, who’s the musical mastermind behind the duo, when I got sent the enormous release ‘One Of Us’ on Mark Di Meo’s Soulstice label last year. Since then they have been on my radar and with their new offering on Mimmo Falcone’s Mo Black label they even step up a gear concerning the quality of output. Whereas ‘O Sol E Com Voce’ is a brilliant example of an Afro House beat driven jazzy affair, the second track on the EP ‘Echoes’ goes for a more laid back vibe which is characterized by a great saxophone break that does some justice. Rounding off the package, there is the highlight of the EP, ‘Colors’, a really outstanding melange of soulful keys, percussive drums and amazing vibes solos that altogether make this the first little summer anthem in spring! Hats off!!!
