Back in the mid-90s Kristine Weitz hit the club charts high with producers Rob D and Rollo on such great songs as ‘Feel What You Want’ and ‘Love Come Home’, and she returns once more, this time working with another set of leaders of the UK dance movement from the era, Love To Infinity. ‘The Boss’, her reworking of the old Diana Ross favourite really does have a unique feel now, and sounds quite removed from the original Chic-production. It’s tempos now race, are piano driven to a 4/4 back beat, and has a distinctly NYC sound. Little wonder with remixers including Tracy Young, Johnny Vicious, Jamie Sanchez and Paul Goodyear, who all ride a groove best served up in a sweaty gay club at 5am. Still the UK floors will welcome the LTI mix with open arms, and we can only hope her forthcoming album, ‘Power Of Music’, will feature a more European slant.
