Manchester sonic alchemist Twisted Alkoid makes his debut on End Daze with an aural train ride with scenery constantly changing in the blink of a Jap’s eye. From the deep shimmer of ‘Boarding Pass’ through drum ‘n’ bass mutants scampering about on ‘Brick Dust Empire’ to the orchestral breakbeats of ‘Die Endgultige Schlacht’ there’s never a dull moment, although it could be the dubstep outings like the spikey ‘Latch Snap’ where this obvious latent talent runs most effectively. Good track titles too: ‘Over Slurp’, ‘Brown1’…Planet Mu devotees will lap up [if they get time to look up].
