It’s not often we get to sample what’s happenin’ 12 time zones away, but this debut long-player from the DJ-come-producer, is such a strong offering it’s certainly worthy of the extra air miles. Having already made considerable inroad into the dance market via a string of well-produced vocal house single releases this album stands as a timely reminder that occasionally, dance singles can translate into dance albums. The previously released ‘Keep Rockin’, featuring songstress Donica Thornton (owes much to Boris Dlugosch’s ‘Keep Pushin’), while ‘I Am Tha 1’ and ‘Stand By Me’ with the über-talented Inaya Day are joyously upbeat sing-a-long numbers. The balance of the album (featuring guests Sharon Pass, Rahsaan Patterson and Andrew Roachford) is very much in keeping with what’s gone before: well executed contemporary disco songs, sung with assured authority. Along with a handful of Bacardi Breezers this is the ideal accompaniment for a great night out.
