Much of the chart topper success of Room 5’s ‘Make Love’ was down to its usage in a Lynx TV ad; the powers of the small screen increasingly the difference between minor-hit and mega-smash. ‘I See Girls’ first surfaced some 18 months ago as the deodorant company’s next musical bed, but due to the demise of Multiply Records is belatedly only now getting a bite at the charts via Ministry’s new dance imprint. Without the ad campaign’s extra push it’s now down to the merits of the record to sell itself. Not a problem I’d wager, as JD (aka Dready) and MC Romero’s hooky deliver, along with a parody of Busta/Monica’s ‘Whoa’, whilst perhaps not as ‘obvious’ as its predecessor, does have another in its tank to appeal to not only the urban market, but thanks to some near-essential MaUVe and Tom Neville mixes promise to add more ping than bling!
