Marking 20 years of funky hip-house Delicious Vinyl celebrate with the re-issue remix of one of their best loved hits by the deep, gravely hoarse voice of South Compton’s Anthony Terrell Smith. The funky cold medina man was master of hip-hop dance in the eighties, and this much compiled song was a smash on both sides of the Atlantic back in 1988/89 (although incredible it only reached a lowly #21 on the UK pop charts). Now with Peaches adding some new beats to the euphemistic song based around an uncredited sample from Van Halen’s ‘Jamie’s Cryin’ it returns once more. So the big question: is it any good? Well, in all honesty it’s not bad, but then again after two decades of hearing it I’ve also more then had my fill.
