Thomas White and Pete Williams, aka ‘Natural Rhythm’ present their debut release on ‘Apollo Music’ entitled ‘Tiny Music Boxes EP’. The duo who formed in the 90’s have been formidable producers within the scene, so this release has been long overdue. Comprising of three originals and one remix it’s a hard hitting EP and another winner from ‘Apollo Music’.
First up on the EP we are blessed with ‘Centipede’, seven minutes of utter mayhem. Sitting on top of the body of the track is nothing but analogue, racing up and down with scatters of crash symbols really keep this track moving. Providing a different take on the track is the ‘100 Leg’ mix, flipping the track and making it
all about the low end, this version is oozing with groove.
Up next is ‘Transistorized’ which takes us on a quick trip down memory lane, a heavy acid house track which sounds like it was pulled straight from that era, reminiscent of influential artists such as Adonis. The tracks punchy beat flows perfectly with the bassline, a great sonic creation from the duo. Rounding of this already well polished EP is another stomper. ‘Power Pellets’ continues with the signature analogue style of this EP, throw in some acid to the mix and you have yourself a melting pot of filth…which I’m sure dance floors across globe will enjoy being churned around in!
