Now I am getting rather aerated about Audio Rehab. This Dutch label is coming on massively in the consistency stakes for me. Peter Brown’s double header is an absolute treat –chi-town beats and bassline bounce it like a lowrider through familiar old skool house territory. The jabbing organ chords and Robert Owens-esque vocal are the cherry on this fairly enormous cake. It’s a beast. And I love it. Flip it and ‘It’s Like Dat’ is a 90s soul / b-boy influenced (is that D-Train, BB & Q or Loose Ends ?) workout with a rolling bass drop, Salsoul Orchestra ‘Ooh I love It’ / Madonna ‘Vogue’ brass stabs and ‘turn it up’ vocal prompts that will tear the roof off anyone’s goddamned party. Fun with a capital sweatbox. Don’t leave home without it.
