Trainspotting With Micah Baxter

Peterborough producer Micah Baxter has built a catalogue that already includes releases on Nervous Records, Repopulate Mars, Short Circuit, Criterio, Dosmundo and Deeperfect. He is also the founder of Gritty Records, an imprint centred around the deeper, groove-led end of contemporary house music. His productions have been supported by Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi, PAWSA, The Martinez Brothers, Marco Carola, Seth Troxler and Joseph Capriati. As his hot new collab with HG, ‘Pound For Pound’, lands on lost Culture, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with Micah Baxter.

Micah Baxter, HG – Pound 4 Pound – Lost Culture

My latest release and maybe my favourite release I’ve put out this year. The track seems to bring up the energy in any set I have played it in and gets a solid crowd reaction on every drop.

Premiere: HG & Micah Baxter - Pound 4 Pound - Lost Culture Records

The Base Boys – Can You Feel The Bass (Local Dub Remix) – Me & You

This is one of my favourite tracks to play out recently. The moody vocals teamed up with that simple but affective synth just carries the track and really has an impact with the audience in any set.

Jamback – Landslide – JAMWORX

This track is just pure energy. The groove of the track with the simplistic vocal hook and crazy synth just before the drop just draws the excitement even before the beat hits.

Dale Howard – Yo DJ – Belief

This track for me just has an energy defining build. It really builds tension in a room with such a simplistic manner and then releases it with such a heavy groove.

Jerry Luca – Excuse Me – The Hague’s Future

This track is a secret weapon of mine in the clubs. I just love how the breakdown really chills out and the on the drop really catches the audience by surprise and sets the pace.

Abel Budding – That Kick – UNLISH

This track is super fun and quirky. I love all the different acid tones over the baseline off this track and it really does the job on a big system.

Jordan Brando – Fixation – Life And Death

I love how this track brings together so many different elements. It seems to mix rolling drums but has also a deep house feel with the bassline. It just works so well.

Mau P – Just A Little Bit More Interscope

This track is just fun. An iconic vocal mixed with an energetic baseline. What more can you ask for in a peak time track?

Mau P - JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE

Jay De Lys – Loaded Clipz (Rsqaured Remix) – Black Book Records

I just love how every element in this track just bounces off of each other. The percussion to the bass to the vocals, everything just keeps the track rolling and he energy up throughout.

Sapian – Reason Why – Prophecy

The track is just super catchy. If the audience is singing the vocals they are singing the melody. This is such a club weapon. Every set it just really works.
