SK Shlomo’s ‘Look Away’ is a pulsating mammoth of huge synths, arpeggiated bass and chopped up vocals, beautifully orchestrated with a passionate and moving narrative, providing a showcase for SK Shlomo’s expertise as an innovative dance music producer as well as lyricist and singer.
SK Shlomo explains, “This video is ultra personal to me – not only is it my acting debut but the story is all about recovery from trauma, and embracing your inner frightened child. This track goes out to any human who has ever been too afraid to look back at the pain of the past. The young me is played by Nathanael Saleh who just starred in Mary Poppins Returns and squeezed in our shoot in between Hollywood award ceremonies, he is incredible and is definitely destined for huge things, as is the director Will Dolan who is 21 years old and has a talent and work ethic that boggles the mind.”
Since opening up about his struggles with depression during his succesful album crowdfunding campaign, SK Shlomo’s life has transformed. He has been asked to speak on multiple music industry panels about mental health, launched his first tour in 5 years and his monthly live streams #WEARELISTENING have snowballed, featuring guests like Jason Mraz, Kodaline and Bill Bailey talking openly about mental health and creativity.
