After a production hiatus for several years whilst putting on world tours for the likes of Rihanna and Drake, among others, former boss of the 90’s label Interstate Records, Jean-Paul Firmin, has started making music again under his Sonic Soul Orchestra guise. His new single, ‘Happy People’, ramps up the feel good factor with an uplifting funky soulful groove that features the incredible falsetto tones of Phillip Ramirez. Other remixes are also set to be released over the next few weeks from UK producer Jay Vegas, who brings some Disco sparkle to the release, adding sweeping strings and percussive drums; and Dallas’ Demarkus Lewis cooks up a warm deep groove that bubbles over his signature soulful beats wizardry.
