A mighty offering from Joey Mull’s Inside operation brings forward Mr Hardcell to really carve a swathe on the less-is-more tip. ‘Smulk’ is based on a mean riff which snarls and snaps a leg-tugging path aboard a trampolinic lower end to fine effect. The deft production twists turn it into a lethal floor vehicle. Flip-wise, ‘Rah’ makes its point with hypnotically dreamy subtlety, rising and falling like a radioactive rhino’s foreskin. Extra effective is the swelling Rhodes-ish undercurrent.
