After the sheer chaos of ‘Stuka Stunt’ comes another installment of sonic mayhem from Mr. No and Bryan Black, which recalls the sweaty paradise that was Sabresonic. ‘Sweatbox’ is a certified summer biggie with shades of what was known as trance before it got cheese-grated to shreds. There are shades of electro afoot in the insidious riff-age and a swirling, drum-splattered drop on a par with early 90s Hawtin. The flip’s ‘Yak’ is clanging, low-slung acid house of a sinister bent which ebbs, flows and pulses, builds into a dark eruption and then slows for a drop. Something like an ‘Acid Tracks’ for the 21st century.
