Summer may be on its last legs but there’s nothing an injection of deep house can’t cure. The latest collection from Dessous proves that point with some excellent, sultry grooves, filling the space with chunky beats, boldly voiced basslines and some lovely, heat soaked textures up top. Best of all are the two tracks from Ivan Latyshev’, whose ‘Waking Life’ is worth the price of the compilation alone – but other cuts from Till Krüger, James Dexter and Langenberg – the smoky ‘Room 210’ – are well worth hearing too. Consistency has been the Dessous watchword over the years, and with this latest volume they’ve hit the spot once again.
