Catz ‘n Dogz made a great contribution to Get Physical’s Body Language series five years back, so their addition to the Watergate canon is great news. They deliver a strong nocturnal mix that starts by nestling in the deep waters of tracks like the wonderful ‘Spring Theory’ of Acasual. Soon there is a nice bit of funk added to the equation – Krikor sees to that with ‘Sometimes Sweet Susan’, and the mix builds steadily towards the powerhouse that is Zoo Brazil’s ‘Big Sister’. Catz ‘n Dogz themselves are all over Todd Terry’s ‘Tee’s Groove’ but when we hit the combination of them with Yotam Avni and Damian Schwartz – ‘Blakkat/Holloway’ – then I’m sold that this is one of the best Watergate comps we’ve had so far.
