French DJ/producer Yuksek returns to Razor-n-Tape with a rather massive EP this month. I think it is always a good sign if producers have their own signature sound-which is the case here: You can recognize a Yuksek track after listening to his beat for a few bars. Main title ‘She’s Mine’ which features some very well executed vocals by Isaac Delusion leads with the mentioned rolling percussive beat, a nice Italo styled bassline which are supported by emotive piano chords and plaintiff vocals, to hearken back to a nostalgic era of indie disco. If you are not into the vocals, a very strong Dub is included as well. Next up the EP title track, a beautiful collab with Brazilian producer Diogo Strausz brings expected tropical flavour, whilst ‘All Night’ featuring vox from M.I.L.K. is my personal fave as the outcome is a perfect example of what we call French Touch nowadays-just simple, hooky extremely funky House Music.
