Back To Mine With Hermanez

Over the past 15 years, Hermanez has carved out a distinctive space in electronic music, with releases on All Day I Dream, Lost & Found, and Shanti Radio Moscow, and support from figures like Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, and Lee Burridge. Supervision builds on that lineage but leans more into tone, atmosphere, and fluid structure. Across these four cuts, the EP creates subtle tension and release, stitching together field textures, hypnotic melodies, and soft but purposeful low-end.

His latest EP, ‘Supervision’, marks Hermanez’s debut on Satya, a label known for curating immersive, soul-rooted electronic music. True to form, ‘Supervision’ finds him exploring with intent pushing gently at the edges of genre while remaining grounded in instinct and sound design. With the EP out now, DMCWorld goes Back To Mine with Hermanez.

Afro Celt Sound System – Release (Masters At Work Dub 1)

This track has been a constant companion in my playlists since the very beginning of my DJ journey. From the first time I played in clubs, it quickly became a staple in my closing sets – a powerful, emotional piece that always left a lasting impression.

Nalin & Kane – Open Your Eyes

This one takes me way back, even before my DJ career began. My brother used to play it all the time, and I still remember the moment he introduced me to it while we were driving together. It became one of those songs that stuck with me.

Justus Köhncke – Zwei Photonen

This track is deeply rooted in my memory from the time I worked at a record shop. It instantly takes me back to those days, digging through vinyl, discovering new sounds, and sharing music with fellow enthusiasts. It also reminds me of the great parties in Maastricht that I used to visit often back then. That era had a special energy, and this track brings it all flooding back.

X-Press 2 – Muzik Xpress

A true classic on Belgian dance floors, and still one of my personal favourites. When the moment is right during a set, those special, unforgettable peaks. This track never fails to deliver.

Metro Area – Miura

Minimalistic, yet incredibly powerful – that’s how I’ve always felt about this one. Metro Area, the iconic album by Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani, is now 23 years old, yet it still sounds as fresh and inspiring as ever. It remains a staple in my home playlist, perfect for those moments when I just want to sit back and enjoy timeless electronic grooves.

St Germain – Rose Rouge

The 2000s marked one of the biggest turning points in my life, and Rose Rouge by St Germain was a constant companion throughout that journey.

Massive Attack – Unfinished Sympathy

One of the classics I can’t live without!

DJ Shadow – Midnight In A Perfect World

I received the album Producing on vinyl for my 18th birthday, and it’s still one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. I remember how excited I was to drop the needle on it for the first time. Even now, years later, it holds a special place in my collection.

Boards of Canada – Happy Cycling

When I’m designing electronic schematics — my second hobby — I often put on Boards of Canada. Their music helps me dive deep into a focused, almost meditative state. There’s something about their sound that creates space to think and explore. They’ve long been one of the most inspiring artists for me, both creatively and personally.

Freeform – Poundland

This one is dedicated to a good old friend — a track that has followed us through the years, always finding its way back into our lives. I’ve discovered so much new music thanks to that person, and I’ll always be grateful for the inspiration and shared moments we’ve had through sound.
