Described as ‘super motion disco originals from the future’, the third Elaste compilation looks to capitalise on the cosmic roots of the first two. It does so in building on the legacy of a certain Giorgio Moroder – and in the case of Moebius’s ‘Urth’, lifts some of the music directly, with explicit references to Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’. Elsewhere there are blissful Balearic moments from Riccardo Cioni and Nacht Und Nebel, while Mythos’ ‘Powerslide’ goes on an all out rock attack with its scattered drums and unapologetic guitar solo. An enjoyable collection, and one for those who like their disco with a bit of added psychedelia.
