Gregori Klosman

The Paris superstar bringing big room happiness

2011 proved to be a highly productive year for Gregori Klosman with a prolific list of remix projects, original releases and DJ performances across the year. Last year saw Gregori remix two David Guetta tracks including the chart topping ‘Where Them Girls At‘ and ‘Titanium‘ as well as Lady Gaga’s ‘Americano‘. In addition to these Gregori also worked on remixes for the likes of Avicii, Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick and Jochen Miller. Gregori’s original 2011 tracks were equally as impressive with labels such as Spinnin’, Dirty Dutch, Flamingo and Xtra Life only too keen to sign his productions up for release. In November, Gregori performed at the amazing Dirty Dutch Blackout event in Amsterdam alongside Chuckie where 30,000 people were in attendance. Fast-forward to the present and Gregori has kick started 2012 by playing to a sell-out crowd at his first ever performance at London’s world-famous Ministry Of Sound, continuing his Dirty Dutch residency at Kaufleuten in Zurich and releasing his stunning remix of Jared Dietch’s ‘You’re Not Alone‘ which has garnered support from the likes of Kaskade, Tiesto, Chuckie and many more. An exciting year ahead beckons…

Words: Dan Prince

Hi Gregori – welcome to DMC. You are known for being one of the few producers on the scene that is able to seamlessly mix together two styles of house – the French and Dutch. Who were you DJ heroes on the way up that has helped mould your style?

“My DJ heroes are Daft Punk forever. So I grew up with French house in my ears, which is really melodic, but it is hard to say who influenced me the most. I’ve been a big fan of Erick Morillo, Bob Sinclar, Steve Angello, Robbie Rivera, etc…I also really liked more dirty techno and hardteck when I was young and clubbing before I became a DJ. The result is I can’t now separate beautiful melodies and nasty drops…”

You live in Paris. Who are your big music mates in your beautiful city?

“My best friend is Tristan Garner, and I have also great musician/dj friends : Bob Sinclar, Michael Calfan, Michael Canitrot, to name a few.”

You recently performed at Ministry of Sound in London last week for the first time. What was that experience like?

Are you looking forward to the Miami WMC in a few weeks time, what do you think of it and where will you be performing?

We interviewed Chuckie a couple of weeks ago whilst he was on the beach in Aruba – you have made some cool music together as you just mentioned – how did you two first hook up and what is it about his production you admire?

“I contacted him via twitter as he supported lots of my music, and arranged to work together. I admire his energy as a DJ and producer. He is really aware of dance floor reaction and you can hear it in his tunes.
